The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) has created a document to help you understand your flood insurance policy. It explains what is considered a “flood”, and it clarifies the definitions of terms like “Replacement Cost Value (RCV)”, “Actual Cash Value (ACV)”, and “Increased Cost of Compliance (ICC) Coverage”. It also gives a good overview of what is covered and what is not covered for both the Building Property Coverage and the Personal Property (Contents) Coverage.
